back in the 303

I am the worst blogger!  Has it really been this long since I have written?!  I am making a resolution right this minute to write in here more frequently.  Sooooo it's been a busy summer!  Brett and I made the LONG drive back to Denver and made it home safely, UHAUL and all.  I can't tell you how good it felt to be home, I missed it more than I can say!  Living in Connecticut was such a great experience and I'm so glad that Brett and I could share that with each other, but it just feels right to be back in Colorado :)

Since we have been back I have been super busy working my butt off at the pool, both of us have been job searching, and wedding planning is in full swing!  Let me skip the less interesting job talk and get to the good stuff, our wedding!  A couple of weeks ago my mom and I went dress shopping for the first time and it was so much fun.  I could try on wedding dresses every weekend, they were all so beautiful!  We went again the next weekend but I ended up ordering one I tried on the first day we went.  I just couldn't stop thinking about it when I was trying on all of the other dresses and after analyzing all of the pictures my mom took 5,000 times I knew it was the one.  It's perfect and I can't wait to wear it in LESS THAN A YEAR!  Other than getting my dress we are finalizing our photographer, trying to pick out save the dates and starting to think about all of those little wedding day details.  It seems like it's so far away but I know July 26, 2013 will be here before we know it, so I'm trying to soak up every moment of planning because time is flying!

the final countdown

AH! It's been wayyyyy too long since I have written in here, sorry people!  It's been a super busy spring and it's about to get even busier this summer.  Brett and I are moving back to Colorado in a few days and there is so much to be done!   It is such an exciting time for us I can hardly wait to get started with our next adventure together.

I hate goodbyes.  They are the worst.  I have had to say goodbye to so many people this past week and it sucks.  But with all of those goodbyes I need to remember that I can always come back and visit and I'm thankful that I have met great people here that I am so sad to have to leave.  Annnnd all of the goodbyes are leading to hellos to all of my people I have missed so much over the past two years!  It is bittersweet leaving Connecticut because we have created new friendships, taken some awesome trips, and being so close to NYC was amazing.  I will miss my school so much, and it was really hard saying goodbye to my cute little 3rd graders and my co-workers :(  But at the same time, we are going to have a new, fresh start in Colorado and we can finally settle down in the place we want to stay for good.  This move is so exciting because it means calling Colorado home again, being with friends and family, and it's one step closer to the married life!!!  I CAN'T WAIT.

As the packing begins and starts to become stressful I need to remind myself that everything will be OK and I shouldn't worry too much about the process; but to enjoy this cross-country, car-towing, UHAUL adventure that is going to start on Wednesday.  See you VERY soon Colorado!!

Good Advice

pet peeve

Just a quick little post about one of my biggest pet peeves.  I hate it when people don't work hard, and are afraid or too lazy to put in the amount of work they need to to be good at whatever is they are doing.  Stop making excuses as to why you can't or shouldn't put in the work to do the best job you can.  So annoying!

p.s. I am loving that it is baseball season.  GO ROCKIES!  

wedding dreams

I keep having dreams about our wedding day, and they are always so stressful!!  I think it's funny I am already have dreams about the big day when it is still so far away, but I guess it's always in the back of my mind.  Also, I think it's weird that all of my wedding dreams have all been full of stress and worry.  I have been everything BUT stressed about planning our wedding so far, and my dreams have been full of missing bridesmaids and family, a DJ who was hours late to the reception, an ugly wedding dress, and hair and make-up disasters.  I know everything will be fine and when the day comes my hair and makeup will be done, everyone important will be there, I will love my dress, and the DJ will be right on time; so go away stressful wedding dreams!

This movie gets me EVERY time. I've seen is so many times, and by the end of it, I'm crying my eyes out. It never fails! And I love it. I watched it last night and it is one of my faves :)

the BEST city in the world

I just got back from my spring break trip to the best city ever, Denver! The trip flew by way too fast and I wish I was still there. I have the greatest family and friends and getting to visit them for a whole week was awesome.

Just being in Denver makes me so happy. Adding family and friends to the mix puts my happiness meter off the charts. Not to mention the weather last week was absolutely PERFECT! I obviously had a great time, can you tell?! I have been to a lot of different places, but being home in Denver is like nothing else. I am biased because most of my favorite people live here, but it's still the best city ever. Alright, enough of my love for this amazing city. Let me tell you about my trip!

Since Brett and I got engaged in November, we have been searching for the right place to have our wedding. When he was in Denver in February for work, he had to chance to check out a couple of venues, and this past week I looked at a few with my fam. I am super excited to say that we chose a place and picked a date, so it's official! July 26, 2013 is the day! We will be getting married at the Inverness Hotel and I know it will be beautiful and perfect. I can't wait!

Other than searching for our wedding venue, I got to spend a lot of quality time with my family and friends. I went to the Avs game, ate tons of good food, laughed a lot, enjoyed the weather, hung out downtown, and caught up on everyday things that I have been missing out on while being in Connecticut. It was such a great trip and I am so lucky to have such great people in my life.

For the second week (yes second) of spring break I'll be hanging out in Connecticut enjoying the spring weather. Brett will be gone for work in Florida so I'll be missing him, but he gets to go see his family too so he will have a great time. I promise I will not wait so long to write my next blog post, I need to get on the ball! Hope you all are having a great first day of spring!
